About Shandon Neighborhood

Shandon is one of Columbia’s oldest and largest in-town neighborhoods. Residents of Shandon enjoy easy access to popular shopping and entertainment districts and can walk or bike to the University of South Carolina campus. The neighborhood boundaries are Harden to Kilbourne and Devine to Rosewood
Each home in Shandon is unique. There are traditional four-square and brick homes as well as craftsman and bungalow-style homes. Residents of Shandon include everyone from retirees to young families to college students. Although very much a part of the city, Shandon’s large canopy of trees, neighborhood parks, wide streets, and sidewalks make it a haven from city life.
