The Shandon Easter Egg Hunt will take place on Saturday, March 30, at 9:00 a.m. at Sims Park. Eggs go quickly, so arrive shortly before 9:00. The suggested donation is $3.00 per child. There will be a golden egg and the Easter Bunny will make an appearance. We hope you will join us for this wonderful neighborhood event.
At the annual meeting on March 11, 2013, the Shandon Neighborhood Council announced the creation of The Belinda Gergel Neighborhood Leadership Award. The award was created in appreciation for Dr. Belinda Gergel's service and contributions to Shandon during her tenure as a member of the Columbia City Council. The award will recognize a resident of the Shandon (who is not a current member of the neighborhood council) who has made positive contributions to the neighborhood through dedicated and selfless volunteer work. This award will be presented at the Annual Meeting in honor of Dr. Gergel's legacy of service and in honor of her commitment to preserving neighborhood character.
The SNC will make a donation to the charity of the recipient's choice. It is not required that this award be given annually.
