Neighborhood Meeting

Shandon's two signature events, the Turkey Trot and the Homes for the Holidays Tour, were a success! More than 250 runners and walkers participated in the Turkey Trot and all the booklets from the home tour were distributed! Thank you to all the coordinators, volunteers, and sponsors. These events remind of us of how wonderful it is to live in Shandon.
Don't miss this wonderful event showcasing homes in Shandon and Hollywood Rose-Hill. Great homes are on the list: 120 Edisto, 1719 Maplewood, 1817 Heyward, 3115 Duncan, 2225 Terrace Way, and 413 Saluda. The tour begins at A.C. Moore Elementary School.
The price is a modest $15 in advance and $20 on the day of the tour. Proceeds benefit area schools and the neighborhoods.

Make plans now to attend the 2012 Homes for the Holidays Tour on Sunday, Dec. 2, from 2:00 - 6:00. The homes on the tour are 120 Edisto, Kit and Joel Smith; 1719 Maplewood, Anna and Seth Rose; 1817 Heyward, Sandy and Sam McGuckin; 3115 Duncan, Pat and Gerald Smith; 2225 Terrace Way, Temple Ligon; and 413 Saluda, Brian and Michele Parnell.
St. John's Episcopal Church at 2827 Wheat will also be on the tour, celebrating its 100th anniversary. Doors of Sims Alley will also be open.
Tickets are $15 in advance or $20 the day of. Tickets may be purchased on the day of at A.C. Moore Elementary (which is where you pick up the tour booklet) or in advance at Piggly Wiggly on Devine St. and Forest Dr., Britton's, Revente, Just the Thing, Gibson's, and Edwin Watt's Golf on Harbison.
The next meeting of the Shandon Neighborhood Council will take place Monday, November 12, at 6:15 p.m. at Emily Douglas Park. Please attend if you can. We will review the results of the neighborhood traffic study conducted by the City.
