The 2011 Homes for the Holiday Tour featuring the beautiful homes of Shandon and Hollywood-Rose Hill was a success. The tour raised money for area schools and the neighborhoods. Thank you to the tour committee, volunteers, and sponsors.
Shandon is co-hosting a candidate's forum with other District 3 neighborhoods on Thursday, March 29 from 6:30 - 8 pm. The forum will take place in the social hall at Wesley Memorial United Methodist Church, 2501 Heyward Street.
Shandon has begun a Yard-of-the-Month program to honor the many beautiful yards in Shandon. The first yard will be highlighted in April. To submit a nomination, click here. Thank you to Mary Lane Sloan for starting the program!
Shandon will host its annual Easter Egg Hunt on Saturday, April 7, at 9:00 a.m. at Emily Douglas Park. The cost is $3.00 per child. Look at how much fun we had at a prior hunt.
.The annual meeting of the Shandon Neighborhood Council will be held March 12, 2012, at 6:15 p.m. at the Fellowship Hall of Wesley Memorial UMC. State and local elected officials are invited to attend. Other items on the agenda include a request to install speed humps along Wilmot Avenue near Ott Road and the election of new neighborhood council members. We hope to see you there!
