39th Annual Turkey Trot on Nov. 29, 2019 - was a big Success
Shandon Neighborhood Association was excited to sponsor our NEW and IMPROVED Shandon Turkey Trot and Burn 5K. And, wow!, did it turn out well
Taking place for the first time on Black Friday, November 29th at 10am the Race drew 385 runners and walkers ready to BURN off those Thanksgiving Day Calories. It was a new course, new distance and lots of fun additions to our already great race! This new race was managed by GRIT Endurance, LLC, with proceeds benefitting The Shandon Neighborhood Association, a 501(c)(3) non-profit, who will use the race proceeds to provide improvements in our historical neighborhood. The course design helps to showcase our beautiful Shandon Neighborhood with this USA Track & Field certified course. The Start/Finish and awards held next to Craft and Draft. Top winners this year: Jack Stacy @ 17:51.3; Liz Wright @ 18:13.7; Drew Williams @ 18:20.1.
Participants were encouraged to dress in their best and most creative Thanksgiving Turkey Burn Attire. Prizes were awarded for the top most creative outfits.
We expect to repeat this delightful event next year. So, whether runner, walker or cheering neighbor please join us for this signature Shandon event on Black Friday 2020!
