42nd Annual Turkey Trot - Great Success

The Shandon Neighborhood Council was excited to sponsor the Shandon Turkey Trot and Burn 5K on November 25, 2022. Despite the close call of rainy weather, the race was successful and attracted over 450 runners and walkers ready to burn off those Thanksgiving Day calories. The race, which was managed by GRIT Endurance, LLC, featured a new course and new distance, as well as lots of fun additions. Proceeds from the race will benefit the Shandon Neighborhood Association, a 501(c)(3) non-profit, which will use the funds to provide improvements in the historical neighborhood. The course, which was certified by USA Track & Field, showcased the beautiful Shandon Neighborhood. The start/finish and awards ceremony took place next to Craft and Draft.

Participants were encouraged to dress in their best and most creative Thanksgiving Turkey Burn attire, and prizes were awarded for the top most creative outfits.

This delightful event is expected to be repeated next year. Whether you're a runner, walker, or cheering neighbor, please join us for this signature Shandon event on Black Friday in 2023!
