Turkey Trot

The 31st annual Turkey Trot will take place Saturday, November 17, at 8:00 a.m.  The 8k run and 4k fun run/walk starts and ends at Hand Middle School, on the corner of Woodrow and Duncan Streets.  Register online at www.strictlyrunning.com.  To volunteer or for more information, contact Charles Appleby at 609-2680 or cappleby@collinsandlacy.com.

Homes for the Holidays Tour

The annual Shandon/Hollywood Rose Hill Homes for the Holidays Tour is scheduled for Sunday, December 2, from 2:00 - 6:00 p.m.  To advertise in the tour booklet, contact Julie Ruff at jlruff@sc.rr.com.  To volunteer as a docent, contact Heather Oana at hoana@bellsouth.net.  

Upcoming Events at Sims Park

Halloween Celebration -- October 31, 4:00 - 6:00.  Ages 12 and under.

Thanksgiving Food Drive -- November and December 2012, Mon - Fri, 2:00 - 6:00.  Drop off non-perishable food items for Harvest Hope.  Sims Park wants to win first place for the most food collected.

Holiday Party -- December 19, 4:00 - 5:30, Ages 6-12. We'll make our own holiday cards! 

Family Movie Night in the Park

Don't miss the last movie night in the park for 2012.  Join us Friday, October 5, at Emily Douglas Park for The Princess Bride.  Gates open at 7:30pm and the move begins at 8:00pm.  Admission is a canned good for Harvest Hope.  FREE popcorn and drinks.  Thank you to Mary Lane Sloan and all the other sponsors who make this fun neighborhood event possible.    

Neighborhood Meeting

The Shandon Neighborhood Council will meet Monday, September 10, at 6:15 p.m. at Sims Park. Sims Park is lcoated at the corner of Duncan and Bonham Streets. All neighbors are invited to attend. Here is the tentative agenda.
